Jan 26, 2010

The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre is pleased to announce $131,000 in funding received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation towards a volunteer development program which focuses on succession planning.

For over 40 years, the JCCC has provided a place for the exchange of ideas, a showcase for those with Japanese artistic and athletic talent, social and intellectual events, and the history and future of the unique Japanese community.

Through the development and implementation of a Volunteer Development Program, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre hopes to fill the need for additional programs, activities, and events while building a stronger and more cohesive community. With the support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the JCCC will be able to successfully launch to the volunteer development program and build a sustainable model to achieve the long-term goals of the JCCC and the community.
